“It’s 2030 and Scotland is a globally-renowned food tourism destination where high quality, memorable food and drink experiences are delivered by proud and passionate local ambassadors”.
This is the shared vision of Scotland Food & Drink and the Scottish Tourism Alliance, the industry organisations for the food and drink and tourism sectors respectively, who have come together, with Scottish Government backing, to capitalise on the country’s assets and unlock a £1bn growth potential.
Marc Crothall, chief executive, Scottish Tourism Alliance, and chair of the national board, will talk to how these two star sectors joined forces to create a strategic action plan, with milestones between now and 2030, to deliver the above vision – the catalyst, what steps were taken, the challenges and how these were overcome. He will talk to the current landscape, where we are now, and what lies ahead. Scotland aims to become an exemplar for responsible food tourism development, where the ambition and vision comes to life in a way that brings tangible benefits to the country’s economy, culture and reputation.
